Nelson C. Bellido,
is a partner at the law firm. Mr. Bellido’s main areas of practice
are in business and complex commercial litigation, products
liability, creation of commercial contracts and white collar
criminal defense. He has substantial experience in lender liability,
construction litigation, business transactional work, real estate
litigation, landlord/tenant litigation, warranty claims, complex
asset recovery and employment law matters. Mr. Bellido has
successfully achieved multi-million dollar settlements for Fortune
100 Companies as well as judgments and settlements in favor of many
small businesses and individuals from the U.S., Latin America,
Europe and the Caribbean Islands. He has defended financial
institutions, property owners, technical companies, construction
contractors, suppliers and individuals in litigation and trial
matters. Mr. Bellido is also exclusive counsel to the nation’s
largest laundry equipment finance company.
Mr. Bellido is admitted to practice in Florida state
courts and in the Federal Southern and Middle Judicial District of
Florida. He holds the highest rating assigned by Martindale
Hubbell. His honors also include being selected
Florida Trend Magazine’s
2008, 2007, and 2006 Legal Elite in Complex Commercial Litigation;
South Florida Business Journal 2006 and 2005 Best of the
Bar in Complex Business Litigation; Put Something Back 2004

In 2007, Mr. Bellido was published in
the American Bar Association Committee on Corporate Counsel’s The
In-House Counsel’s Essential Toolkit . Mr. Bellido contributed
an extensive annotated Commercial Lease as part of a useful
collection of form documents related to corporate governance,
compliance, general business contracts, employment, IP and
litigation. The complete series is intended to provide guideposts
and is filled with general advice, practical tips and ideas for
“training outside counsel,” in addition to many annotated forms.

Mr. Bellido is a former Assistant State
Attorney with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office where he served
our community from 1993 to 1997. He received his juris doctor in
1992 from the University of Florida College of Law. Mr. Bellido’s
undergraduate degree of Political Science and History with emphasis
on Latin American History was obtained in 1989 from Duke University
in Durham, North Carolina. Mr. Bellido received the Outstanding
Graduate Senior Award from the University of Florida Trial Team for
his outstanding trial advocacy skills. He also received the Duke
University Senior Leadership Award recognizing his outstanding
leadership skills during his undergraduate years at Duke.
Nelson was born in Chicago, Illinois and
grew up in South Florida. He is fluent in Spanish.
