Barbara Viniegra concentrates her practice on complex commercial litigation, financial institution litigation, intellectual property litigation, and appeals. Barbara has substantial experience as an appellate practitioner and has successfully represented clients in appellate proceedings at both the state and federal levels.
Active in professional associations, Barbara currently serves as a Director of the Dade County Bar Association. She is also an active member of the Cuban American Bar Association, Florida International University Alumni Association, the George Washington University Law School Alumni Association, and an honorary member of the Florida International University College of Law Alumni Association. Through a number of these organizations, Barbara serves as a mentor to various law students at Florida International University College of Law and St. Thomas University School of Law.
Barbara received a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from Florida International University and her Juris Doctor, with high honors, from the George Washington University Law School. During her last year of law school, Barbara was selected as a Legal Research and Writing Dean’s Fellow and taught legal research and writing to first-year law students. She is admitted to practice law in all state courts of Florida and New York and in the following federal courts: United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Florida, and United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Barbara is also a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Barbara was born in Madrid, Spain and is fluent in Spanish and English.
